Obediah was born in Kittery,York Co.,Me. as the third child of Robert Allen and Catherine Furbush of Kittery.Obediah married twice:
Prudence Thorndike,b. 1730 in Falmouth,married in 1756 and had but one child:
Gideon Allen-1757 in Falmouth
Prudence then died soon after and he then married Mary Ingersoll Rideout on 29 Jul 1758.She is the daughter of Nicholas Rodeout and Mary Hunt Ingersol.
Obediah and Mary are the parents of eleven children,first four born in Falmouth and the rest born in Columbia.
