Parents: Ivin Roscoe and Anna (Tatem) Edson.

Ruby Esther Edson attended Kearney State College and Denver University. After receiving her teaching certificate, she moved to Douglas, where she taught second grade. It was while teaching that she met George Eastman Carmin, a high school coach, teacher and local rancher. After their marriage on March 1, 1947,they moved to the ranch at Orin where they resided for the better part of 60 years. It was there they raised four daughters.

After George was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1974, Ruby dedicated her life to his care. It was during that time they began to spend their winters in Borrego Springs, California.

She is survived by her brother, Roscoe Doc Edson of Fremont, Neb.; sister, Trena Stevenson of Hershey, Neb.; daughters, Paula and her husband David Kreycik of Douglas, Georgia Carmin of Laramie, Jacque and her husband Craig Goodrich of Douglas, and Donna and her husband Ed Ricks of Douglas; grandchildren, Nichole Rider, Jennifer and her husband TC Page, Michael Rider, Bart Goodrich, Brianne Goodrich, Kass Ricks, Calley Ricks, Garrett Ricks, Robynn Palmer, Jay and Anna Palmer and Brian Palmer; and great-grandchildren, Kayle Palmer, Paige Palmer, Jackson Page and Colby Buus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George, on Aug. 7, 2003; brothers, Earl and George Edson; and sisters, Dorothy Craig and Grace Schultheiss.
