Petersburg died Friday in Maury
County Hospital, Columbia after
a long illness.
The funeral was Monday at the
Petersburg chapel of Ralston-
McCauley Funeral Home. The
Rev. David Covington and the
Rev. Arlis Jackson officiated.
Burial was in Talley Cemetery.
Mrs. McCowan was a native of
Giles County and daughter of the
late William and Henrietta Hogan
Mitchell. She was a member of
the Church of God.
She is survived by a daughter,
Mrs. Wayne Wells of Petersburg;
a sister, Mrs. Audrey Gatlin of
Lubbock, Texas; three grand
children; 11 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great-grandchildren.
