Composer, Singer. His original name was Máximo Francisco Repilado Muñoz. He began his career in the 1920s, with "Los Compadres." In 1959, when the revolution thriumphed, he retired. But in 1997, he obtained world reputation with his participation on album "Buena Vista Social Club" by Ry Cooder, that obtained a Grammy. He is remembered for his songs "Fidelidad," "La Negra Tomasa," "Chan Chan," and "Huellas del Pasado."
