Actor. He received stardom status as a Spanish stage and screen actor starting in the 1930s. He became much more popular after the Spanish Civil War with supporting roles in films such as "Surcos" in 1951, "Calle Mayor" 1956, and "Who God Forgives" in 1957. His last film was in 1974, "La prima Angelica." He and his wife, actress Luchy Soto, formed a stage company, in which he appeared in "El Accidente" and "Equus." Later in his career, he accepted television roles such as "Study 1" productions. Coming from a talented theatrical family, he was the brother of actress Pastora Peña and son-in-law of actress Guadalupe Muñoz Sampedro. In 1957 he was the recipient of the Prize of the National Union of the Show. He died of liver cancer.
