Boone, a retired oil field worker and resident of Opelousas, died 11:34 a.m. Saturday Dec. 15, 2001, in Opelousas General Hospital.
Survivors include: one daughter Janet Lavergne and her husband Richard of Fenton, Missouri; three grand children, Jenal Mistrot of Opelousas, J. J. Mistrot III of Leonville, Joshus Mistrot of Leonville; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Adrian Boone of Eunice and James Boone of Lawtell; eight sisters, Virginia Bertrand of Opelousas, Ruby Granger of Opelousas, Velma Boone of Lawtell, Mary Lou Boone of Lawtell, Eva Mae Boone of Lawtell, Victoria Pitre of Lawtell, Ella Bertrand of Lawtell, and Yola Roy of Port Barre.
He was preceded in death by his wife Melba Richard Boone; his parents Henry and Amy Marie LeJeune Boone, one sister Wilma Soileau of Mamou, one brother L.G. Boone of Henderson and ten half-brothers and sisters.
Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Old Sunset Road in Opelousas will be in charge
of the arrangements.
