He was born in Jackson County, Michigan on May 14, 1849, to the late Henry Baxter and Loretta Belle Hopkins Wolcott.
He married Flora M. Comstock, 19 September 1873, in Kalamazoo.
They lived in Albion,Michigan to this union,
five children, four daughters ; one son.
Preceded in death by his wife, Flora M. Comstock Wolcott; parents.
The Wolcott Union Wind Mill Company was located on the northwest corner of E. Burberry and North Huron Streets. Organized in 1876, the firm employed fifty people.
Wolcott windmills could be found on farms throughout the area, and were shipped across the country, and around the world.
He was a Former Mayor served 42 years as Head of Loan Association.
Mr.Wolcott was an State Legislator from this District from 1911-1917.
In state politics,Mr.L.J.Wolcott,was a staunch member of the Democratic party.
For 16 years,he was engaged in the manufacture of windmills,and gasoline engines, here.
Mr. Wolcott was educated in the Albion Public Schools, and he attended Albion College for a short time.
