Corrine Grant, 89, of Athens died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg. She was born Nov. 13, 1913, in Fancy Prairie, the daughter of Charles and Martha McGrew Smith. She married Forrest Grant in 1934; he died in 1993. A son, Sidney, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Grant retired from the secretary of state's office as an office clerk. She was a member of the Chatsen Club and Order of the Eastern Star Petersburg Chapter for many years. She also was a member of Athens Christian Church, where she was an organist for 61 years. Survivors: a daughter, Sharon (husband, Terry) Barnett of Athens; a son, Ron (wife, Lourine) Grant of Buffalo Junction, Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Athens Christian Church, the Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating. Burial: Hall Cemetery in Athens. Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens is in charge of arrangements.
