Bryan was born on August 1, 1973 to Marion Jr. and Lou Smith. He grew up in Oak Island, NC and always called that his "home". As a child Bryan loved playing baseball and surfing. You could almost always find him on the beach with his friends laughing and having a good time. His best friend of all was his twin brother Marion. They had a special bond that they did not have with any other person. They looked out for eachother and enjoyed a lot of the same interests. Bryan loved reggae music and his brother played some of his favorite songs at his funeral. On the evening of May 2 1994, Bryan left the apartment he shared with his brother, to go out with a friend. He was last seen later that same night in downtown Wilmington outside of the Barbory Coast bar. A week later on Mother's day, his body was found in Town Creek, about 15 miles from where he was last seen. Marion and his family have been devastated from the loss of Bryan. Bryan's mother, Lou, has been involved in several support groups and has helped many other parents of murdered children. Bryan also left behind his sister Heather, nephew Ryhan who he taught to say "uncle". Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who love him very much. Nephews Cameron, Jonah, Seth, and Holt who were born after he died. Nieces Hayden, Harper, and Sarah who will also never get to meet their Uncle Bryan. Bryan's murder remains unsolved.
