Consort Monegasque Princess. Born from a Lombard aristocratic family directly related to the Gonzagas of Milan, she married (1616) Honorè II thus becoming the first princess of the Principality assuming the name of the Grimaldi family. Despite being a woman of considerable education and culture, her personality had little effect on the life of the Court and on the political decisions of her husband. Hippolyta died prematurely at the age of thirty-eight.
