BURLINGTON - Kathryn Elizabeth (Mosher) Cram, wife of the late Major General Reginald M. Cram, died in Burlington on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011.

Called "Betty", she was born in Brattleboro on Jan. 31, 1918, the only child of Kenneth Elester Mosher and Mildred MacDonald Mosher.

A graduate of Brattleboro High School, where she won prizes for poetry and art, she attended Skidmore College and The Katharine Gibbs School in Boston, Mass., before marrying Reginald Cram of Northfield in June 1937.

Prior to becoming Adjutant General of Vermont in 1967, General Cram served in the United States Air Force as an International Affairs specialist in Washington, D.C., London and Paris, where the couple raised their two daughters. They returned to Burlington in 1964, following retirement from the Air Force. Throughout the years, Mrs. Cram was active in many organizations; in Burlington, she was a member of Klifa Club.

Mrs. Cram is survived by her children, Robin and her husband, Paul Lualdi, and Jane and her husband, Vcevold Strekalovsky, of Cohasset and Hingham, Mass., respectively; by six grandchildren, Paul Lualdi and his wife, Danielle, John Lualdi and his wife, Katharine, Sarah Lualdi Moran and her husband, Adrian, Elisabeth Strekalovsky and her husband, Brian Hebeisen, Katherine S. Smith and her husband, Donald, and Anna Strekalovsky; and by ten great-grandchildren. For all of them she was a model of strength, grace and wit.

A memorial service will be held at the Norwich University Chapel in Northfield at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011. Arrangements are in care of Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home in Burlington.
