US Congressman. He graduated from the Springfield Normal and Business College, in 1902 and taught school at Independence, Missouri. He purchased the Buffalo Reflex newspaper, was editor-publisher, (1904-21), served in the Missouri State Senate, (1921-25) and was Lieutenant Governor of Missouri, (1925-29). In 1941, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-seventh Congress, serving until his death at age 61 and his son Marion T. Bennett, was elected to take over the remainder of his term.
