Entertainer. Beautiful Penobscot dancer, actress, storyteller, singer. Performed in early vaudeville, Wild West shows, and New York revues, even dancing topless. Starred in numerous silent films, including "The Silent Enemy." Went to Paris and danced before royalty. Met and married French journalist Jean Archambaud, with whom she had a daughter. Fled the German invasion on foot over the Pyrenees, then made her way home to Indian Island, where she raised her daughter and taught traditional arts to her people.
