Canadian Statesman. A native of Varennes, Québec, he studied at Saint-Paul College in Varennes, and at Masson College and at the college of agriculture of Sainte-Thérèse. He served also as alderman of the town and as Justice of the Peace. He was one of the main organizers of a subscription for helping the Riel family. In 1886, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly as the Liberal representative for the district of Verchères. He was re-elected twice : in 1890, without opposition, and in 1892. He was defeated in 1897.
