3rd Baroness Herbert

Daughter and sole heir of William Herbert, 2nd Earl of Pembroke, and Lady Mary Woodville. Paternal granddaughter of William Herbert, 1st Earl of Pembroke, and Anne Devereaux. Maternal granddaughter of Richard Woodville, 1st Earl Rivers, and Jacquetta of Luxembourg.

Elizabeth was the niece of Queen Elizabeth, consort of King Edward IV, and a relative of the Tudors through this connection.

Her father died in 1490, and Elizabeth inherited extensive property in Wales. She succeeded to the barony of Herbert and was made a ward of Henry VII.

She married Charles Somerset in 1492, and bore two children, Henry and Elizabeth.

Her husband was created Baron Herbert in her right in 1504, and upon her death became one of the greatest landowners in Wales.
