Research shows that Anna was the only child of Benjamin Amos Alderson and his first wife, Matilda Farrar, who survived and lived until adulthood. She married Dr. George Weems on 18 Jun 1867 in Tensas, Louisiana.

Information at the St. Charles Historical Society on the Alderson family contains birth, marriage, and death records given by a descendant. The information is said to have come from the Bible belonging to Samuel Baker Alderson.
