HORACE BUMP
SHAFTSBURY - Horace Bump, 77, native of Shaftsbury and a lifelong resident of this community, died at his home in West Shaftsbury Sunday afternoon. He was the son of Noyce and Margaret Fisher Bump and had received his schooling in Shaftsbury. He was 77 years old last Aug 19.
Mr. Bump had worked as a farmer in this area and had also been employed at various farms in the vicinity most of his life. He had enjoyed gardening and was successful in raising top quality vegetables and fruits.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Martha Thayer, Bennington and Mrs. Phoebe Moon, Shaftsbury; several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Walbridge Funeral Home this afternoon and evening when the family will be in attendance.
The funeral will be held from the funeral home tomorrow at 2 pm with the Rev. H. Glenn Payne, First Baptist Church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury.
