Puerto Rico Governor. Ferre served as the Governor of Puerto Rico from 1969 to 1973. Ferre also served as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Puerto Rico in 1964. In 1967 he founded the Pro-Statehood New Progressive Party, and also served as Puerto Rico's Senate President from 1977 to 1980.
