Mrs. Odie Chaplin Taylor, 72, of the Jamestown Community, dies this morning in a local hospital following an extended illness.

A native of Hampton, S.C. she had made her home in Ware County for the past several years. She was the former Miss Odie Chaplin, daughter of the late John Fenton Chaplin and Palmer McClelland Chaplin and the wife of the late Rufus Cleon Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor was a former employee of the Pelham's Grocery Store on State Street. She was a member of the Jamestown Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Leona Carter and Mrs. Thetus Crews, both of Waycross; six bothers, William Chaplin and Trolley (Charlie) Chaplin, both of Waycross, Verdantus (Dan) Chaplin, Alma, Johnnie Chaplin, Jacksonville, Fla., Vinson Chaplin, Willacoochee, and Fenton Chaplin, Los Angeles, Calif. and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Miles-Odum Chapel with Burial in Kettle Creek Cemetery.

Mile-Odum Funeral Home is in charge.
