Dale Anderson, 60, of Blaine, Minn., formerly of Duluth, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, in Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center.

Dale was born Sept. 27, 1951, in Duluth, to Carl and Helen (Watsick) Anderson. He attended Central High School and was an Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.

Dale married Michele Huard May 15, 1971, in Duluth. Dale and Michele moved to the Twin Cities where they raised their children. He worked for the Soo Line and D.M.&.I.R. Railroad as a machinist.

Dale was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Ham Lake and was a hospice volunteer in Minneapolis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of the Patriot Guard of Minnesota.

Dale was always helping friends, especially his father-in-law, Herb Huard, whom he was there for during his final years.

Dale's pride and joy was his granddaughter, Ellise. He volunteered at her school and never missed her programs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dale is survived by his wife, Michele; daughter Renee Anderson of Coon Rapids, Minn.; son Shawn of North Carolina; granddaughter Ellise; five siblings; and many extended family and friends.

VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Monday, Nov. 14, in St Lawrence Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Huard officiating. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred.
