Civil War Medal of Honor recipient, Served as a Private in Company G, 142nd New York Infantry. At Fort Fisher, North Carolina, January 15, 1865, he voluntarily advanced with the head of the column and cut down the palisading. He was issued his award on December 28, 1914.
