He was ordained a Priest of Quebec on March 28, 1802, apponted Coadjutor Archbishop of Quebec on December 15, 1826, ordained Bishop Coadjutor Archbishop of Quebec on May 20, 1827, succeeded Archbishop of Quebec on February 14, 1833, and appointed Archbishop of Quebec on July 13, 1844. He died on October 3, 1850, while still Bishop of Quebec.
