Mathias Koenig, son of William Koenig, was a native of Eppeldorf, Diekirch, Luxembourg. He married Elizabeth Welter, daughter of Nicholas Welter and Margaret Meyer, on 15 Oct 1898 in Lemont, Cook, Illinois. The couple settled in Chicago. Mathias died at age 68 and was interred in Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery on 21 Aug 1926.
