"Actually his name was Celestino Barutello-Coletto. Being Barutello his main family name and Coletto was just a second family name often used to distinguish families when there were too many people having same name, same surname and same date of birth. Coletto comes from the name Nicola, often shortened in Cola and then as a diminutive became Coletto. This means that this line of the Barutellos had an ancestor whose name was Nicola and the Barutello-Coletto were his descendants. I assume that in US Barutello was taken as his middle name and Coletto (changed to Coletti) was much easier to understand than Barutello. Celestino was born in Coassolo Torinese, Torino on 27 November 1870. His father was Francesco (born in Coassolo Torinese in 1830) and his mother was Teresa Spandre (born in Coassolo Torinese in 1837)."
