CONFEDERATE VETERAN DIES AT INFIRMARY
Succumbs After An Operation Performed For Relief From Bladder Trouble.

William Buchanan, 83 years old, a Confederate Veteran of the Civil War, succumbed to a nervous shock Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph's Infirmary following an operation performed for bladder trouble about a week ago. Mr. Buchanan rallied after the operation and was on the road to recover, but on account of his extreme old age he could not overcome the shock to his nerves. The end came at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Buchanan was a native of Trimble county. He served through the war as a member of Company E, of the Fourth Kentucky Cavalry. He was captured in battle and confined at Camp Morton, Ind.
Mr. Buchanan is survived by two brothers, James Buchanan, of Indiana, and Jerry Buchanan, all of Trimble county.
The funeral will take place at Milton to-day.
