When Cecil was born, he was given the name Chubs Gibson George. He hated the name Chubs, so he changed it to Cecil. When he was older, the mail was always being misdirected between Uncle Cecil and another Cecil George so Uncle Cecil took the letter M from his wife Mildred's name and the letter M became his middle initial. That M didn't mean his middle name started with an M, it was just the letter M so he and the other Cecil wouldn't get their mail mixed up anymore. He became Cecil M. George.

Cecil was the seventh of nine children born to William Logan and Malisie Ann Kuykendall George. His siblings were Herman, Fred, Estie, Fannie, Bessie, Riley, Stanley and Everett.

Cecil married Mildred Blaylock and they had three children. Lloyd, Janene, and Jim.

Cecil loved to play the fiddle. He was a farmer.

I remember their farm out in the country outside Miami. They had a two story house and they were in the flood plain. I remember one time there was a bad rain and it flooded and their house was pretty deep in the water. When the water went down, they just cleaned up and went on.

I also remember that once while we were there visiting, my older sister Sandra went missing. Everyone was looking for her,,, afraid that she had fallen in to the pond. Come to find out, she had been hiding in the house and knew she would be in deep doodoo for all the worrying,,,,, when she was found, she got a whoopin.

Great memories at Mildred and Cecil's.....

The photo of Mildred and Cecil were taken by me, and the photo of Cecil playing the fiddle was also taken by me at my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary in Fairland, Oklahoma.

Cecil was my fathers older brother, and my uncle...
