Edna L. (Pinkston) Rittenhouse, 77 of Bridgeport, NE., departed this life, Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff with her family by her side. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport. Interment will follow at the Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bridgeport Memorial Chapel. She was born, Edna Louise Pinkston on May 17, 1930 to Lynn and Nellie (Bartlett) Pinkston of Pleasanton, NE. She married Shirley Rittenhouse on June 15, 1947. To this union they had three children, Ray, LeAnn and LaNell.Edna enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, ceramics and collecting angels. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as "Nana."Edna was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harvey and Warren Pinkston and son Ray Rittenhouse.Edna is survived by her husband Shirley of Bridgeport; sister, Marlene Ramsey of Ogallala, NE; daughter, LeAnn and husband Kent Laurent of Bridgeport, daughter, LaNell Rittenhouse of Bridgeport, grandchildren, Jennifer and Scott ten Bensel of Cambridge, NE., Jessica Rittenhouse of Sidney, NE., Kent Laurent, Jr. of Lincoln, NE., Becky Rittenhouse of Sidney, NE., and Alecia Laurent of Kearney and eight great grandchildren.
