-1942 to 1946, Colonel in the Judge Advocate General's Department of the Army, World War II. George served overseas in the South Atlantic Theater of Operations.
-1949 to 1951, Elected as Democrat, to the Eighty-first Congress to represent Oklahoma's 8th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving only one term, from January 3, 1949 to January 3, 1951.
-Following his defeat in the 1950 re-election bid, he resumed his law practice in Enid, Oklahoma.
-1951, named Director of the Division of Criminal Investigation of the State Department of Public Safety.
-1952 to 1968, Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice and Chief Judge of State Administrative Zone No. 1 in 1967.
-1968, President of the Oklahoma Judicial Conference.
-1969, District Judge.
