Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a First Sergeant in the United States Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Corporal in Company E, 8th U.S. Cavalry for action in 1868 and 1869 in the Arizona Territory. His citation reads "Bravery in scouts and actions against Indians." A military marker was added to grave site in 2004.
