Doris D. Hergenrader, 80, of North Platte, passed away December 15, 2011 at her home. She was born July 30, 1931 to Elmer and Eva (Keiper) Hilton at Farnam, NE. She grew up in the Cozad and Gothenburg areas and graduated in 1949 from Gothenburg High School. On July 22, 1951, Doris was united in marriage to George J. Hergenrader at Cozad. The couple lived in Cozad until 1969, then moving to North Platte, where George worked for Northwestern Public Service and Doris was a secretary for numerous offices and agencies. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past member of Mrs. Jaycee's, Business and Professional Women and of BPO Does in Cozad. Doris loved her family and friends. She was vibrant and never met a stranger. She is survived by her husband, George of North Platte; three children, Karen (Steve) Lyne of McCook, Brenda (Bill) Faust, and Brian (Becky) Hergenrader both of North Platte; eight grandchildren, Greg, Jodi, Shawn, Becca, Bret, Kate, Cory and Melissa; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Orville Hilton of Gothenburg and Marvin (Carol) Hilton of Kearney; and a sister, June (Jerry) Walker of North Platte. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Leonard Hilton. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating. Inurnment will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday with family recieving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established in her memory.
