She was best known for playing the character roles of nurses, female deputies, old ladies, scrub women, prison matrons, switchboard operators, maids, married women, single women, reporters, child welfare workers, secretaries, receptionists, aunts, clerks, mothers, wives, homeowners, mothers, and customers, usually in dramatic films, comedy films, crime films, horror films, and classic western films and classic western television series. She will be best remembered for playing the role of 'Rita Monahan' in the film drama, "Halls Of Anger" (1970). The film which was directed by Paul Bogart, which was written for the screen by John Herman Shaner and Al Ramrus, and which also starred Calvin Lockhart, Janet MacLachlan, Jeff Bridges, and Davis Roberts, tells the story of an all-black inner city school that has to become an integrated school. A few dozen white kids are transferred there, but the black students are aggressively opposed to this. The school then approaches a tough black teacher for help.
