Was widowed with two children Elizabeth and Tillie from his first wife Mary Schwartz. After she died he put an ad in the newspaper looking for a new wife, he listed himself as a wealthy farmer. A young lady from Virginia named Myrtle Elizabeth Neighbors also widowed with four children, answered his ad. She and her children traveled from Virginia to Kansas to begin a new life with George and his girls. Much to their surprise George was not as wealthy as he had let on. Myrtle knew she needed help in raising her own children so she married George (despite the 20+ age difference between them). Together they had two more children Charles and Frances. Frances is my grandmother.
