Dr. Wm. J. Bland died last week at his home in Clarksburg, at the advanced age of 86 years. He was appointed Superintendent of the Hospital for the Insane Asylum at Weston in 1881, and held the position eight years. Dr Bland served as a surgeon in the Confederate army. He was a brother of Mrs. Judge John Brannon and Mrs. Judge Mathew Edmiston.
