He was married.
The birthdate on the death record differs from the one in the records of his sister Isabelle - hers gives his birthdate as 7 Oct.
These family records give his name as James Gilbert Roe.
West Virginia Marriage Record:
James married Evelyn B. Cool of Preston county, in Preston county on 10 Aug, 1918. Miss Cool was 16.
The ceremony was performed by minister Archibald Moore at the residence of Mrs. Robert Williams, the record filed by EC Everly, Clerk of Court.
Both the bride and groom were residents of Preston county, WV. The minister's return has the notation that the license was issued to B. F. Taylor, with a note of consent from parents of Evelyn B. Cool.
Date of burial, 5/27/27. Handwriting on death record is poor. He died of tuberculosis and was residing at Reynoldsville before being at the hospital for 10 months ( on the record).Location is questionable. The state death record gives burial place as Taylors cemetery. I don't know if James may have been buried here before this plot was purchased by our grandfather, near his Taylor and Roe relatives; or whether he was in another cemetery altogether., but have not found him listed so far.
Family diagram of cemetery does not list James. The volunteer photographer was not able to find a stone or marker for this James Roe. Edit to the burial place can be made if further information is found. Thanks to the photographer for his efforts.
