The following was read at Lonnie's graveside with an honor guard of his fellow officers standing watch over him for his 'Final Call'

"For all listening units and stations, this is the Cassville Police Department's Honor Guard Command with a special announcement.

This is the final call for Lonnie Eugene McCullough, who passed away at the age of 69.

Lonnie devoted 28 years of his life to the Cassville Police Department. During that time he made an immeasurable impact on this city, through this agency and in our schools as he safeguarded numerous students as they traveled to school and as he taught them the importance of making wise decisions. He ultimately retired as Chief of this department, playing a key role in the safety of this community and of Barry County.

Lonnie, your assignment is now at 302 Main Street, where you are to watch over your family, friends, former students, coworkers and fellow peace officers as they continue the good work which you have left for them to carry on.

This is your final call Chief McCullough,
this is you final call.

Lonnie, you are always in our hearts and your honor, commitment to duty and your passion for good will not be forgotten. May you now hear your Master say, "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful with what I first gave you, now see what I have! Come and celebrate with me for all of eternity..."

The Little Ship ♥¸¸.•*¨*•.. I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted his white sails with a golden light, and as he disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, "He is gone". But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and at the very moment when my companion had whispered, "He is gone" a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, "Here he comes!" .•*¨*•.¸¸♥

Don't Cry for me...

If you could only see where I'm at now, you wouldn't cry for me. All of Heavens Angels met me when I arrived and I was met by Jesus with a loving embrace. I walked side by side with old friends and family alike. Don't cry for me because here there is no trace of sickness or sadness only His loving Grace. The beauty is beyond words and nothing I could say would compare. Don't cry for me because I am in a far better place, with streets of gold just like we were told. So please remember don't cry for me but rather rejoice for I can hear angels sing. Oh, how much peace their voices bring.

TREASURED SEASONS

For everything there is an appointed season.
And a time for everything under heaven.
A time for sharing.
A time for caring.
A time for loving.
A time for giving.
A time for remembering.
A time for parting.
You have made everything beautiful in its time
For everything you do remains forever.

You can shed tears that I am gone.
Or you can smile because I lived.
You can close your eyes and
pray that I will come back
Or you can open your eyes and
see all that I left.
Your heart can be empty
because you can't see me
Or you can be full of the
love we shared
You can turn your back on
tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.
You can remember me and
only that I am gone
Or you can cherish my memory
and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what I'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

... this, I think is what Lonnie would want...
