Motion Picture Screenwriter, Producer. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he started his career as a juvenile actor in silent films and went to work for Republic Studios as a screenwriter in 1937. As a screenwriter he wrote for 64 films with credits to include "The Painted Stallion" (1938), "Song of Texas" (1943), "My Darling Clementine' (1946), "The Boy from Oklahoma" (1954) and "Hound-Dog Man" (1959). After leaving films he joined Universal Studios in 1960, where he produced for television such programs as "Cannon", "The Virginian", "It Takes a Thief", "Ironside" and "Little House on the Prairie". He died of a heart attack at age 83 in Los Angeles, California.
