Jacob was the son of Elijah Sprinkle & Martha Stobough.

His date of birth is problematic. The 1900 census indicates he was born Jun 1834. His age at death on his death certificate calculates to a birth of 3 Aug 1834. He has two siblings who also reportedly were born in 1834 as well as another sibling born in 1833. Some of these years are incorrect.

Jacob married Nancy Agnes Lowery on 27 Jul 1856 in Adams Co., IL.

Their children included: Josephine (Gregg, Coon, Neal); Steward A.; Sarah M. (Bohanan); Mary Belle (Ford); Grace Myrtle (Nichols, Barkley); John Lowery; & Elizabeth Martha (Slater, White).

Jacob died at the county home and was originally buried in the cemetery there. Those buried there are said to have been reinterred at Greenwood. I also created a memorial for him at the county home cemetery to honor that he was buried there at the time of his death.

During the Civil War, he served in Co. B, 21st Missouri Infantry. He received a pension.
