PARKERSBURG - Erdene Virginia Eschbacher, 97, of Parkersburg died April 20, 2003, at her residence.

She was born in Dec. 4, 1905, in Murphytown, a daughter of the late Jesse and Ruth Shuttle Dimmick. She had worked at the Surprise Store and was retired from Dils Brothers Department Store.

She is survived by four grandchildren and their spouses, Linda and Gary Farris of Bridgeville, Pa., and Nancy and Larry Stanley, Kathy and Ed Miller, and Butch Eschbacher, all of Parkersburg, and Becky Eschbacher of Washington; eight great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Quick of Parkersburg; and a special niece, Patricia Flegler of Oshkosh, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Eschbacher, in 1947; one son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Betty Eschbacher; and two sisters, Hazel Weitz and Rhea Thomas.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, the Rev. Ron Daugherty officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
