New York, USA
|Death: ||Mar. 8, 1830|
Adele was the daughter of renowned engineer Claudius Crozet. Originally buried near Adele, his remains were moved from Shockoe Hill to the grounds of the Virginia Military Institute in 1942. Her mother and brother Alfred are buried next to her in her father's plot, and her sister Claudia and her family are nearby.
She died age 12. Among the material in the Crozet Papers at VMI is a clipping, from an 1830 newspaper, on keepsakes of deceased loved ones. The clipping suggests a lock of hair is the best remembrance. The file includes a lock of Adele's hair, four baby teeth, and some of her eyelashes.
