Film Director. After trying his career as a journalist, he successfully attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. At the same time he was a documentary filmmaker for "Settimana Incom." In 1953 he began his career as a screenwriter of comedies and farces collaborating with Steno for "L' uomo, la bestia e la virtù," "Un giorno in pretura" and "Un Americano a Roma." He made his debut behind the camera in 1959 with "I ladri" with Totò and Giovanna Ralli. The debut film is followed by several popular films interpreted by stars of the song of the time and by Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia. After the western movie "Il tempo del massacro" (1967), in the 1970s he began his most interesting production which culminated in titles such as "Beatrice Cenci" (1969) and "Non si uccide un paperinoi" (1972). Subsequently, his films moved toward horror atmospheres, special effects, and violence with films such as "Zombies 2," "Quella villa accanto al cimitero," and "Un Gatto nel cervello." At the time of his death he was preparing his return to the cinema with the remake of the "La Maschera di Cera."
