She was born on July 1, 1917, in Junction City, Ohio.
Married to the late Ned Barratt Blose, and survived by her daughters, Beverly Downing, Barb Heisel (Dave), Carolyn Dyer (Dave), and Sue Minor (Buz); 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was the daughter of Robert Josiah and Ethel Flora (Klingler) Adcock, and the sister of Neil Harlan Adcock and Marjorie Schneider.
The late Ed Whitner was a dear friend and companion for 23 years.
Erma was a graduate of South High School in Columbus. She graduated from The Ohio State University with degrees in Home Economics and Elementary Education. She taught for many years in the Columbus City Schools. Her memberships included Child Conservation League, University Women's Club, two bridge groups, Bexley Methodist Church, and the Friday Night Coffee Group.
She traveled extensively, was an avid gardener, and played golf at Columbus Country Club, the Ohio State University Golf Club, and Suntree Country Club (Melbourne, Florida).
She was an enthusiastic golfer until age 86. Erma's love, care, and concern for her family will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 21, from 4-7 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road.
There will be a private memorial service for the family, followed by burial at Green Lawn Cemetery.
The family wishes to offer special thanks to the staff at the First Community Village Burkhart Center and the Healthcare Center for the care and kindness they extended to Erma.
In lieu of flowers, Erma's family requests that donations be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
