George W. Giles, 90, died yesterday after a long life as a pioneer of the west. He would have been 91 had he lived until April.
Funeral services will be held at the Gillette Funeal home Friday at 2 p.m.
He was born in Littleton, New Hampshire on April 3, 1857 and came to the Black Hills in 1876. He was a ranch worker on sheep and cattle ranches in South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming thruout his active life. He came to Gillette in 1914 and had spent the major portion of his time here since that year.
He had received care in nursing homes for the past year, and was hospitalized for a short time before his death. There are no known relatives.
