Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Wells Maxwell 77 will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 30 2003 from the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Cemetery in Madison County. Mrs. Maxwell died Monday October 27 2003 at her residence. She was born in Hornersville MO daughter of the late R.A. and Bertha Hart Wells. Mrs. Maxwell was a telephone operator for Bellsouth and also was employed in the lunchroom at Parkway Junior High School She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her husband B.J. 'Joe' Maxwell on October 3 2002; three brothers Ray Wells Bobby Wells and Clifford Wells. Survivors include a son Joseph E. Maxwell of Cary NC; three sisters Louise and husband Harold Maxwell of Jackson Nell and husband W.S. Butler of Jackson and Mille Alexander of Jackson; a brother A.D. and wife Brooksie Wells of Jackson. Pallbearers to serve are Charlie Butler Ronald Wells Kenneth 'Bud' Wells Paul Schremser Bill Alexander and O.R. Alexander. In lieu of flowers any memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
