George Arnold Osborn age 81, passed away to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2012 in Corpus Christi, Texas. George was born in Healdton, Oklahoma on March 8, 1930.

George worked most of his life in the Petro Chemical field, starting as a teenager as an oil well gauger. In the Corpus Christi area he worked for various chemical plants, most notably Hoechst Celanese where he worked from 1974 to 1993 when he retired as a chemical operator.

In addition, George was very active with different organizations; serving as president of the AFLCIO for many years and vice president of OCAW. He also helped formulate and establish OSHA.

After retiring from Hoechst Celanese he opened Osborn Trailers which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He was known in the area as the 'Trailer Man.' George had a great love of God, family, and community. He said his prayers every night, helped the community in many ways, most recently suggesting solutions to the 'Oso Creek' drainage problem which affected 400 families in the area.

George is preceded in death by his father Noah, and mother Nancy Briwell.

He was married to the love of his life, Lola Osborn for 62 years.

He is survived by his wife Lola Mae of 62 years, son Lonnie (Elma) of McAllen, Texas, daughter Patricia Osborn of Corpus Christi, Texas, grandchildren Kristina and Matthew and his puppy Bandit.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Seaside Funeral Home.

A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Seaside Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
