He was born on March 28, 1861, at Pentress, Monongalia, Co., W. Va., a son of Samuel S. and Jane McCormick Lemley He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Blair Lemley, who died in 1953. He spent his entire life in the Pentress community and was well known for his farming and stock raising activities in that area.
Surviving him are the following children: Mrs. Efamy Johnson, Pentress; W. J. Lemley, Core, W. Va.: Mrs. Jane Healey, Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Flora Whitlatch, Waynesburg; Mrs. Alma Lemley, Morgantown, W. Va.: Mrs. Madolin White, Morgantown; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, Charles and John, are deceased.
