His parents were Calvin Sayre and Mary Dickerson.
Calvin Sayre was born in Connecticut Farms New Jersey and resided in Mercer County Ohio. According to a 1901 Sayre family History Calvin Sayre died 1810 New York City. The father of Calvin Sayre is Daniel Sayre.

Husband of Musidora Morgan, father of Judge Anthony Sayre, grandfather of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald.

Grand Secretary of Grand Lodge A.F. and A Mason of Alabama. Died at his home in Montgomery Ala. Saturday night April 7. Born in Franklin Co.,Ohio,Jan.3rd,1808.1st moved to Montgomery in 1820,when a boy of 12 years of age. He was editor for many years from 1844 of the Talledega Watchtower and in 1854 of the Talledega Republic at which time he was elected Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and grand recorder of the Grand Commandery,K.J. of Ala.He was a prominent Mason of the 33d Degree of the Scottish rite,and was much beloved by all the members of the order.
