    Lydia M. Carpenter (nee Seidelman), 85, of Oswego, Illinois passed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, February 29, 2004 at her daughter's home in Oswego, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL. A complete obituary will follow in tomorrow's edition.     Lydia M. Carpenter, age 85, of Oswego, Illinois passed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, February 29, 2004 at the home of her daughter in Oswego, Illinois. She was born on August 17, 1918 in Oswego, Illinois the daughter of Leonard and Marie (Oestreicher) Seidelman.
    Lydia was united in marriage on October 15, 1938 in Aurora, Illinois to Mr. George E. "Bud" Carpenter and they spent the next 26 happy years of their lives together. She cared for him when he was injured in an accident in 1956 until his passing in November of 1964. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Lydia gave love and sunshine to everyone she met. She was our special Rose.
    Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, Illinois as well as its Woman's group. She was employed for 15 years by Lektro-Vend in Aurora, Illinois.
    She is survived by her children, Deanna Brown of Plano, IL, Cheryl (Jim) Hounshell of Sheridan, IL, George (Cathi) Carpenter of Montgomery, IL, Janis (Don) Olson of Oswego, IL and Peggy Tutor of Yorkville, IL; her 16 grandchildren; her 28 great-grandchildren; her brother, Harold (Ardis) Seidelman of Aurora, IL; her sister, Minnie Reynolds of Aurora, IL; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Seidelman and Betty Carpenter; as well as several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Marie Seidelman; her husband, George "Bud" Carpenter; her brothers, Leonard, August, and Fred Seidelman; her sisters, Marie Calkins and Elsie Wilson; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Seidelman, Ann Seidelman, Jane Nichols and Ann Pederson; and her brothers-in-law, Gene Carpenter and Albert Carpenter.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, Illinois with Pastor Fred Eisenhut officiating. Interment will follow in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, Illinois.
