LoriAnn Ryder

LAYTON – LoriAnn Ryder, age 44, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2004 in the loving company of her husband and family.

She was born on November 16, 1959 in Ogden, Utah to Garlin Carr and Shirley Summers. Lori married Jack Ryder, her wonderful husband of 15 years in June of 1989.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her large family. She enjoyed camping, shopping, playing with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and riding in the hot rod and on the motorcycle with her husband. She also loved books and spent many hours and countless nights reading novels.

Lori will be remembered for her humor, selflessness, and concern for her family's welfare. Despite her numerous medical conditions she always tried to ensure the comfort of those around her.

She was so caring, considerate and sweet. We are extremely appreciative of her guidance and love in our lives. We thank God for giving us our mother, wife, daughter, aunt, sister, and friend. Her passing has left a void in our hearts that will never be filled or forgotten. We give special thanks to the attentive ICU unit staff of Ogden Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; her parents, Garlin and Shirley Carr; her daughter, Amy (Darnell) Simpson; her sister, Lynn Dee (Randy) Jackson; and grandfather Melvin Summers. Also surviving are five stepchildren, Charity, Scott, Jeanette, Michele, and Adele; three grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Kristie, brother Rodney, an uncle, and her grandparents.
