Sarah (Leach) Leak was a daughter of Enos and Elizabeth (Montgomery) Leach. She married George W. Leak in Hendricks County, Indiana on Jan. 10, 1850. They were the parents of six children, three of whom (William Edward, Matilda and Elizabeth) died as children in Feb. of 1868, just a few days after their mother. The children who survived to adulthood were Lucinda (Leak) Hickman, James T. Leak and Enos Alonzo Leak.

The 1850 Census shows Sarah Leach (age 21, born in Kentucky) living in Middle Township (which then included present day Union Township), Hendricks County, Indiana with parents Enos (age 49) and Elizabeth (age 44) Leach and siblings Mary (age 26), Lucinda (age 24), Matilda (age 19), James (age 16), Eliza J. (age 12) and Margaret (age 9). She married George W. Leak on Jan. 10, 1850 in Hendricks County, Indiana. The 1860 Census shows Sarah Leake (age 31) living in Union Township, Hendricks County, Indiana with husband George W. (age 31) and children Matilda T. (age 9), Lucinda M. (age 6), James T. (age 3) and Elizabeth A. (age 1 month).

from an article titled "Union Township Pioneers Rest in Eternal Sleep in Vieley Cemetery" written by Roscoe Leak in 1956:

"...Father north is the family group of George W. Leak. His wife Sarah died Feb. 3, 1868. She was a daughter of Enos Leach. George W. had his share of sorrow. On Feb. 14, 1868, his son aged 4 died. The next day his daughter , Matilda, age 16, was taken. Two days later a third child Elizabeth, age 7, was the fourth victim of a disease known as 'spotted fever'. Today the ailment would be diagnosed as spinal meningitis. All were buried in the Vieley graveyard."
