Luther Goldsby was the son of George Goldsby, son of Thornton B. Goldsby (a white man) and Hester King (a mulatto), & Ellen Beck Goldsby Lynch (buried at this cem.); he had the following siblings: Crawford "Cherokee Bill," & Clarence (both buried at Citizens) & a sister, Georgia Goldsby Brown.

He was of Cherokee ancestry through his mother Ellen Beck.
